PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded article having such a structure that can be molded in a complicated shape with a thin wall while the light weight and rigidity of a magnesium plate, etc., is utilized. SOLUTION: A resin-composite metallic enclosure 10 is a molded article composed of a plate-shaped magnesium plate 12 situated in the center of the enclosure 10 and a molded resin body 18 having a connecting section 16 which is connected to the peripheral section 14 of the magnesium plate 12 and a complicated shape and integrally molded with the magnesium plate 12, with the magnesium plate 12 being inserted into the molded resin body 18. The body 18 is made of an ABS resin and constituted of an extended plate section 18a which is extended in all directions from the magnesium plate 12 and a peripheral wall section 18b extended upward in the direction perpendicular to the extending direction of the extended plate section 18a. In order to connect the magnesium plate 12 to the extended plate section 18a of the molded resin body 18, projecting sections and recessed sections which accept the projecting sections are alternately formed in the peripheral section 14 of the magnesium plate 12 and the connecting section 16 of the extended plate section 18a of the molded resin body 18.
