PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a document in which information about a program is described, based on the relation ship with a system by editing stored document configuration information according to information on an output format. SOLUTION: A document editing/specification defining part 101 fetches information inputted from an input unit 12 and the comment information of each program from a document storage file 21, generates document configuration information and stores the information in a document configuration storage table 102. An object document extracting part 103 acquires information on the processing contents of a program designated by the operation of the unit 12 from a document database 24, refers to the table 102 and adjusts output data. An output format editing part 104 puts together obtained output data to be a template format from a template database 25 by referring to the table 102, and the obtained document data is stored as an original document in an original document storing part 105.
