PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery residual quantity detecting circuit and a battery residual quantity detecting method capable of precisely grasping residual electric power capacity of a battery. SOLUTION: An output voltage existent first voltage range value is repeatedly measured from plural voltage ranges on the basis of a first output voltage value and a reference value for showing output voltage of a battery, information on the battery is outputted, and after outputting the information, the first output voltage value is stored in a second storage means 6 as a second output voltage value, and the first voltage range value is stored in the second storage means 6 as a second voltage range value. When outputting information on the battery, the second voltage range value is read out of the second storage means 6, and when the first voltage range value is not more than the second voltage range value, the first voltage range value is outputted as information.
