PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a node in the optical LAN system without re-laying optical fiber cables that have already been installed. SOLUTION: In the case of installing optical fiber cables 7-1-7-4, an extension optical connector 8 has already been installed. When it is not required to extend a node to the extension optical connector 8, an optical adaptor 9 incorporating a relay optical fiber cable 12 is connected to the extension optical connector 8 to pass an optical signal through the cable 12. In the case of extending a node to the extension optical connector 8, the optical adaptor 9 is removed from the extension optical connector 8 and an extension node connects to the extension optical connector 8. |
