The engine has a housing with fluid chamber, containing meshing hollow gear and pinion. The chamber has a high pressure section and a low pressure section with connection apertures. The housing cover (30) has a connection line between the two sections, and a back pressure valve, which opens in direction towards the high pressure section. The valve is fitted through a valve opening (42) in the cover to project into the connection line. The line has a pressure connection bore (40) and/or a straight tank connection bore (41) extending from the chamber to the valve opening.
