The hand gun striker device for a hand gun has a striker piece (13) which can be held in a tensioned position by a trigger mechanism (33,43) or released after operation. After release and through the influence of a striker spring, the striker piece moves to a rest position, where it causes the ignition of a cartridge. A check device (103,105,107) applies a checking force on the striker piece (13,101) in its tension position, which is opposed to the force of the striker spring and is smaller than it.
