<p>An air vent for a waterbed includes a float 3 which prevents water loss while allowing air venting. The device includes an exhaust port attached to the waterbed and having vents 231,24. Float 3 is inside the body of the port and rises when water enters the vents 231,24. The body of the float carries convex strips 32 to minimise sticking. Vent hole 21 in the body allows air to escape but is blocked by the conical end 312 of a soft plug 31 at the top of the float when the float rises. Shoulders 311 on the plug prevent the conical end jamming in the vent 21. A similar plug (31', Fig 6) in the base of the float may block the vent(s) to the waterbed interior when the float falls to prevent air being sucked back into the bed. A cap 22 is screwed to the body.</p> |
