PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a sealing property of an in-furnace roll shaft in a continuous treatment furnace of a metal band. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a casing 1 arranged outside a furnace body through part of a roll shaft, a gland packing group part 3 arranged in the casing and an annular outer member 4 arranged to the intermediate part of the gland packing group, the outer member formes an annular space part A between an inner peripheral face side and a roll shaft, in addition the same formes an annular space part B between an outer peripheral side and an casing inner face and has a hole part piercing through between inner/outer faces, a shield gas is charged into the annular space part B from a gas charging hole 5 piercing through the casing under a pressure higher the an in-furnace pressure, the shield gas is caused to flow through the annular space part B and the hole part into the annular space part A, further the gas is caused to flow through the clearance between the gland packing and the roll shaft 2 to a furnace inside and a furnace outside. |
