MANUFACTURE OF FRP CYLINDRICAL COMPONENT, AND CORE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply remove a core used as a part of a core material when a cylindrical component made of an FRP is manufactured without heating the cylindrical component. SOLUTION: In the case of molding a cylindrical component made of a cylindrical fiber-reinforced resin (FRP) expanded in a space in a cylinder by a filament winding method, the core 2 is mounted at a mandrel 3 (core material) of a metal cylinder to form an expanding site of the space. The core 2 is made of a polyvinyl alcohol (poval). A cylinder is molded of resin-impregnated fibers with the mandrel 3 with the core 2 as a core material. After the resin of the cylinder is thermoset, the mandrel 3 is pulled out, the core 2 retained in the cylindrical component is dissolved with water (warm water) and cleaned to be removed.
