PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester film having ready adhesiveness to silicone, excellent mold release characteristics and antistatic properties, comprising a cross linked primer layer prepared by applying a specific coating solution to the surface of a polyester film before completion of crystal orientation, then drying, drawing, or the like. SOLUTION: A coating solution containing (A) an expoxy group-containing alkoxysilane such asγ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, (B) an amino group- containing alkoxysilane such as N-β(aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, and (C) a polymer type antistatic agent such as a vinyl-based polymer is applied to at least one side of a polyester film such as a film composed of a polyethylene terephthalate or a polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate before completion of crystal orientation. The film is dried, drawn and heat-treated to provide the objective film with a crosslinked primer layer. The weight ratio of the components A to C in the coating solution preferably satisfies equations I and II [(A) to (C) are each pts.wt. of the components A to C]. |
