PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant resin composition showing reduced bleed out and an improved flame-retardant effect by incorporating a polyolefin resin with a bromine compound and an inorganic flame retardant aid. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by mixing 100 pts.wt. polyolefin resin with 1-50 pts.wt., desirably, 2-40 pts.wt. bromine compound comprising 1 mol of a bromine compound of formula I and 0.01-0.5 mol of a bromine compound of formula II and 0-25 pts.wt., desirably, 0.1-20 pts.wt. inorganic flame retardant aid. In the formulae, X is a halogen; m and n are each 1-6C; p and q are each 0-10, provided that p+q>=1; Ar1 and A2 are each a 5-16C aromatic hydrocarbon group or a 5-12C saturated alicyclic hydrocarbon group; Y is at least one member selected among a 1-6C saturated hydrocarbon group, sulfone, sulfide, ketone, a 2-6C alkylene oxide, and a single bond; R1 and R2 are each a 2-11C hydrocarbon group; s and t are each 0-10, provided that s+t>=1; R3 and R4 are each a 5-38C aliphatic group; and a and b are each 0-10, provided that a+b>=1.
