<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a seal component using an RTV-1 silicone sealant and to obtain a curable RTV-1 organopolysiloxane. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a seal component using an RTV-1 silicone sealant, a sealant produced by curing a sealant composition obtained from components comprising (A) about 10-about 90% of an organopolysiloxane component mostly composed of one or more silanol functional organopolysiloxanes, (B) an amino functional crosslinking agent in an amount effective for curing the sealant composition in the presence of water, (C) about 5-about 50% of iron oxide and (D) about 2-about 50% of magnesium oxide and resistant to an aggressive functional liquid is selected as the sealant. The sealant has excellent heat stability of the silicone sealant and yet resistance to aggressive liquid.</p> |
