<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition inhibiting the deterioration of a pigment or a dye with UV light, persisting the effect over a long period, and giving sufficient light resistance, even when printed on a permeable substrate such as paper. SOLUTION: This aqueous ink composition is obtained by preparing an aqueous dispersion containing polymer particles having UV light-absorbing functional groups by a method, for example, comprising copolymerizing a monomer such as a (meth)acrylic monomer with a compound having a UV light-absorbing functional group, and subsequently adding at least one of a pigment or a dye to the prepared aqueous dispersion. The aqueous ink composition is further obtained by imparting a dispersion function to a pigment by the use of the polymer particles and subsequently similarly treating the pigment, etc. The weather resistance of the polymer particle themselves is improved by the employment of a polymer comprising at least one of an acrylic polymer, a polysiloxane and a fluorine-containing polymer as a polymer forming the polymer particles.</p> |
