PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate connection between a throat tube and a water intake pipe in a parallel pipe jet pump by providing a cylindrical cap nut on the bottom end of the water intake pipe and external threads on the top end of the throat tube so that the cap nut can be screwed. SOLUTION: A jet pump uses a vacuum generated from high-speed spurts of water to draw water in through a strainer and sends it via a throat tube 112 and a water intake pipe 114. External threads 10 are provided on the top end of the throat tube 112, while a cylindrical hammerhead 14 comprising a cap nut is provided on the bottom end of the water intake pipe 114. Internal threads are formed on the inside of this hammerhead 114 so that they may be screwed to the external threads 10 on the throat tube 112. Engagement holes 18 are drilled in the outer periphery of the hammerhead 114 at intervals of 90 degrees. Protrusions provided on the inner side of a semi-arc main body of a tool moving circularly either forward or backward are inserted into these engagement holes and, in that condition, the tool is turned to connect the two members 112, 114.
