PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an ordinary small-sized pump even more compact by making motor rotation reciprocate a drive member to vary the volume at a diaphragm so as to perform a pump action. SOLUTION: In this drive mechanism 20, rotation of an output shaft 2 of a motor 1 turns a drive shaft 21 fixed to the output shaft. The drive shaft is fixed aslant with respect to the output shaft 2. A drive member 22 is mounted to the drive shaft 21 in a manner that it can move circularly either forward or backward. Since the drive member moves circularly either forward or backward with respect to the drive shaft, it does not turn even when the drive shaft 21 turns. The inclination of the drive member 22 changes as its inclination direction changes with respect to the output shaft 2 through rotation of the drive shaft 21. When the inclination direction of the drive member 22 changes, a drive portion 12 of each diaphragm fixed to its end moves in a vertical direction to perform a pump action. The distance between a motor mounting surface and the top surface of the drive member can be made small, which allows the dimension of the motor 1 in the output shaft direction to be made smaller, contributing to an even more compact body of the entire mechanism.
