PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging method of raw material, with which the rising of Si in molten iron is restrained and solidified molten iron and slag can easily be melted by avoiding the charge of excess quantity of heat at near a tuyere already opened, in the starting operation at the cooling time of a blast furnace forming the solidified iron and slag layer by solidifying a part of molten iron and slag. SOLUTION: In the charging method of the raw material in the blast furnace operation, in which a small number of tuyere is opened to start the operation and successively, the adjacent tuyere is opened in order and finally, the whole tuyeres are opened to operate the blast furnace in the starting operation at the cooling time of the blast furnace, coke ratio near the tuyere tending to be opened, is made relatively higher to the coke ratio near the tuyere already opened to smoothen the melt of the solidified iron and slag.
