PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform optional dewatering widely in a short period by releasing gas such as compressed air heated in hydrous soil and pressure steam or liquid/ fluid into soil. SOLUTION: Compressed air 5 is released from an ejection opening 7 into a soft mud layer 1 containing water through an air sending pipe 6. The air 5 expands in the opening 7 and generates weak vibration in the layer 1 when it makes surrounding earth explode, and makes heated air generate a temperature difference between it and water in earth. In this way, a temperature transfer by convection is generated in the layer 1, water in the layer 1 is facilitated to evaporate and to ascend, cracking from a lower part in earth which can not be obtained by surface drying is made to occur so that evaporation drying over a wide range is made possible together with natural surface drying. In this way, the implementation of large scale dewatering in a reclamation- development site and others is made easy, and optional dewatering can be preformed for a short period.
