1,072,505. Ventilators. CONNOR ENGINEERING CORPORATION. June 25, 1964 [Dec. 4, 1963], No. 26397/64. Heading F4V. A device for controlling flow of conditioned air from a plenum to a room comprises a pair of dampers operated by the pressure of air flowing over them and a further manually controlled air flow throttling device. As illustrated, the manual device comprises two slotted troughshaped casing members 5 and 8, the former being fixed and the latter movable by a screw 51 to form a hit-and-miss damper. The member 8 is held in place by a coil spring 20. The air flow controlled dampers comprise flaps 33 and 34 pivoted on rods 31 and 32 secured to end walls of the casing. The flaps are pivotally connected by pairs of links to a block 39 slidable on a threaded rod 40 under the action of air flow pressure against a spring 44. The effect of the spring is adjusted by turning the rod 40 in a fixed threaded boss 41. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the hit-andmiss damper arrangement is replaced by pivoted casing members (54 and 55) which are adjusted against the action of springs (58) by turning a rod (59) around which is wrapped a wire (60).
|
