PURPOSE: An apparatus capable of preventing a teletext data error when decoding a teletext IC by inputting a composite video signal from an image processor IC to the text IC as an optimal composite video signal through a composite video banking signal processor is provided. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for preventing a teletext data error in a television receiver,wherein the television receiver includes a teletext IC for receiving a composite video signal from an image processor IC(7) which processes a composite video signal, and decoding a teletext data encoded by a television broadcasting signal, a composite video banking signal processor(14) compares a reference voltage from a teletext IC(10) with a level of the composite video signal from the image processor IC(7) and outputs an optimal composite video signal according the comparison result. The teletext IC(10) compares a level of the optimal composite video signal with a reference voltage level, decodes the teletext data according to the comparison result, and outputs a reference voltage to the composite video banking signal processor(14).
