PURPOSE: A method for operating a memory card of a mobile terminal can inserts a memory card which records a data and is a portable type. CONSTITUTION: A method for operating a memory card determines whether a start signal is input or not, accesses a memory card in case of a busy line state, and records a communication sound. If the busy line state is not determined, the method checks whether a short message is received or not, accesses a memory card, and records a message if the short message is received. If the short message receiving state is not determined, the method checks whether the memory card is normally connected or not, the method outputs a predetermined error message if the normal connection is not determined, If the normal connection is determined, the method accesses a memory card, and outputs a recorded data through a predetermined output part.
