PURPOSE: A method for uploading files is provided to upload files in a web retriever based on characters to a web server. CONSTITUTION: A method for uploading files comprises the steps of: a web retriever based on characters receiving an address of a web server from a user terminal, through a communication emulator, and receiving a web document from the web server; the web retriever interpreting the web document, generating an input window capable of inputting file names, and receiving the field value required in the web document from the user terminal; the web retriever receiving files from the user terminal through a communication protocol, making the data structure for transmitting the inputted value in the web document and the received files to the web server, and transmitting to the web server; an address input section of the web retriever for receiving the address of the web server from the user terminal through the communication emulator; a connection processor of the web retriever setting connection to the received address of the web server; a document receiver for receiving the web document from the connected web server.
