LCD AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An LCD is provided to maximize a multi-domain effect and embody an optical view angle by forming an electric field leading window to a pixel electrode and leading an electric distortion. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate(31) and a second substrate(33) are opposed. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate(31) and the second substrate(33). A plurality of gate wires and data wires are vertically and horizontally formed on the first substrate(31) and define a pixel region. A thin film transistor is formed at both a crossed point of gate wires and data wires and has a gate electrode(11), a semiconductor layer(5) and a source/drain electrode. A pixel electrode(13) has an electric field leading window which is formed on the first substrate(31). A color filter layer(23) has an electric field distortion hole(15) on the second substrate(33). A common electrode(17) is formed according to a surface of the color filter layer(23). Therefore, a multi-domain effect takes place because an electric field is distorted by the electric field distortion hole(15) on the color filter layer(23). The multi-domain effect is maximized by controlling the thickness of the color filter layer(23) and maximizing the effect of the electric distortion.
