PURPOSE: A multimedia E-mail system in intranet is provided to transmit and receive a text data and a multimedia data by compressing and encoding the multimedia E-mail. CONSTITUTION: A multimedia E-mail system in intranet comprises a mail box server(107), a user management server(102), a multimedia E-mail transmitter(101), a multimedia reception demon(113), and a multimedia E-mail receiver(114). The mail box server manages a restored database. The user management server manages a database for a personal information and an organization information. The multimedia E-mail transmitter compresses and encodes a multimedia main text on a basis of the information. The E-mail reception demon compares the transmitted items to previous items. The E-mail receiver decompresses and decodes the received multimedia E-mail text according to each media.
