PURPOSE: A signal link test method by a loop back mode in a slave station verifies MTP function of a slave station by forming a loop at end terminal of the slave station without connection to a counterpart station when testing a signal link. CONSTITUTION: A signal link test method determines whether a loop back mode by testing a test link mode. In case of the loop back mode, the method exchanges DPC/OPC of the link test message. The method transmits the link test message, and determines whether the normal test message is received or not. If the normal test message is received, the method determines that the link is normal. If the normal test message is not received, the method determines a link error. Thereby, a link test function of MTP3 can be performed by only the slave station, and a self test function can be made in every link.
