PURPOSE: A brake of a drum type is provided to improve a brake function by supplying the same expansion force into a primary shoe and a secondary shoe. CONSTITUTION: A drum typed brake is braked by a pair of brake shoes pushed back by being face contacted with a slant unit(23a) of a pair of wedge members(23) through an extrusion performance of a wheel cylinder(22) mounted on a center of a back plate. In a case of stepping a brake pedal, a piston of the wheel cylinder is extruded to push the wedge member by receiving hydraulic pressure generated from a master cylinder. Then, a pair of brake shoes(26) and a stopper fixed by face contacting with the slant unit are pushed back toward outside, and attached to a drum and then, braked by a lining(28) as rub friction material. In a case of stepping out of the brake pedal, the wedge member moves to the center of the wheel cylinder by removing the hydraulic pressure from the wheel cylinder to release braking.
