The press tool has clamp pliers (4) removably held in the holder (3) by a connecting bolt and containing two clamp jaws (40) and an actuating drive motor. The connecting bolt is slid through bores in the holder and clamp pliers. The holder contains a contactless electronic sensor which directly or indirectly determines the relative position of the clamp jaws and the holder and passes a visual and/or audible signal to a warning device.
