<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively create or record a history of operations to a file with high importance among requested file operations. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus has: acquisition means for acquiring a file request; determination means for determining whether to create history information corresponding to the file request acquired by the acquisition means in accordance with whether designated file attribute information is contained in the file request; and creation means for creating the history information corresponding to the file request when it is determined by the determination means to create the history information corresponding to the file request.
