PURPOSE: An electron gun for a color cathode ray tube is provided to uniformly maintain the size of spot at the total area of screen by reducing a diameter of electronic beam penetration hole in control electrode. CONSTITUTION: The size of center electronic beam penetration hole is smaller than the outer electronic beam penetration hole about 2¯15%. When a heater of an electronic gun is applies to the power resources, the heater is generated a heat. An electron is transferred from an oxide which is coated at upper plane of the cathode(1), an emissive quantity of the electronic beam is controlled by the first grid electrode(4) and accelerated by the second grid electrode(5). The accelerated electronic beam passes through the third grid electrode(6), the fourth grid electrode(7), the first accelerating electrode(8) and the second accelerating electrode(9) in turn, and then the electronic beam passes through a shadow mask(16) which is adjacent with a fluorescent plane. The electronic beam spot(21) is formed at the fluorescent plane.
