The spin reduction method has a regulating and control device (1) supplied with an input signal (axR,axS) representing the actual vehicle retardation, compared with a reference retardation (aRef), for providing a setting signal for reducing the braking force when the reference signal is exceeded. The reference signal is calculated in dependence on the detected road inclination and the vehicle geometry, e.g. the horizontal and vertical distances between the vehicle center of gravity and the spin axis.
