PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluorescent lamp which can improve the vividness of the color the object illuminated therewith without increasing the types of the phosphor materials used. SOLUTION: This lamp is prepared by forming on the inside wall of a glass tube a phosphor layer made from a mixed phosphor based on a green phosphor having an emission peak in the range of 540-570 nm, a red phosphor having an emission peak in the range of 600-670 nm, and a bluish green phosphor activated with divalent europium and divalent manganese, the bluish green phosphor satisfying the relationship: (IMn/IEu)>=0.3×104Mr+0.13 (wherein IMn/IEu is the ratio of the peak height IMn of emission by the divalent manganese to the peak height IEu of emission by the divalent europium, and Mr is the reciprocal of the correlated color temperature of the fluorescent lamp) and has a correlated color temperature of 2,800-7,500 K.
