PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply apparatus to relax an increase in pressure in a line through delayed water temperature rise occurring when hot water supply is stopped or during heat insulation operation. SOLUTION: This hot water supply apparatus comprises at least a water incoming line 1; a hot water supply line 3; a heat-exchanger 5, and a burner. Even when hot water supply is not carried out, heat insulation operation of water present in a closed line containing a beat-exchanger 5 is effected through combustion of a burner. In a so formed hot water supply apparatus, a total volume in the closed line is increased by effecting variation and regulation so that a water containable volume of a flow rate regulator 12 (9) is increased to a value higher than a volume before the starting of heat insulation operation. This constitution provides a control part +5 effecting control so that the increase of a pressure in the closed line occurring during heat insulation operation is relaxed.
