PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strengthen stationary joints by improving the strength or durability of their cage via a simple means while keeping their shape, material and heat treatment process intact. SOLUTION: A stationary joint 10 comprises an outer ring 20 that is connected to one of two rotary shafts to be coupled and is formed with an internal spherical surface 22 having a plurality of ball track grooves 24, an inner ring 30 that is connected to the other rotary shaft and is formed with an external spherical surface 32 having a plurality of ball track grooves 34, a plurality of balls 40 interposed between the outer-ring ball track grooves 24 and the inner-ring ball track grooves 34 for torque transmission, and a cage 50 interposed between the outer-ring internal spherical surface 22 and the inner-ring external spherical surface 32 to retain the balls 40. An inlet angle portionαof the outer-ring internal spherical surface 22 is locally softened to relax its aggressiveness to the case 50 and thus improve the durability thereof.
