PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unwanted radiating magnetic field down to a standard value or less, while suppressing the generation of image distortion and misconvergence and maintaining satisfactory deflecting characteristics, without using canceling coils. SOLUTION: In a deflection yoke 1 having a deflection angle of not less than 90 degrees but not more than 115 degrees used in a cathode-ray tube by being attached to its neck part having a neck diameter of not less than 18 mmϕbut not more than 26 mmϕ, the thickness of a magnetic core 4 in its vertical direction to its horizontal direction is made small, the sizes of horizontal and vertical deflection coils 2, 3 are the magnetic core 4 are assigned in the range of not less than 80 mm but not more than 100 mm, not less than 50 mm but not more than 70 mm, and not less than 30 mm but not more than 50 mm respectively. In addition, the magnetic core 4 is placed so as to bring it close to the neck side of the cathode ray tube with respect to the horizontal and vertical deflection coils 2, 3.
