PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer-type measuring instrument which can increase the luminous luminance of a pointer while the complication of an energization structure is prevented. SOLUTION: A pointer 6 which is connected to the driving shaft 4 of a measuring instrument body 5, which uses the shaft as the rotation center CR and which is composed of a translucent member is provided. In addition, a plurality of light emitting elements 7 which are arranged on the front side of the measuring instrument body 5 along the rotation track RO of a light receiving part 63 formed at the pointer 6, which supply illumination light to the light receiving part 63 and by which the pointer 6 emits light are provided. The end face, of the pointer 6, which is situated on the rear side is formed as the light receiving part 63. The respective light emitting elements 7 are arranged so as to be faced directly with the light receiving part 63.
