PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint sheet-forming composition capable of obtaining a joint sheet excellent in heat resistance, steam resistance and the like which can be used in a wide range of industrial fields such as chemical industry, automobiles, ships, and various devices and apparatuses and can suitably be used as the base material of gaskets, a joint sheet formed from the composition, and a method for preparing the joint sheet. SOLUTION: A joint sheet-forming composition comprises (i) non-asbestos base fibers, (ii) a rubber material, (iii) rubber chemicals and (iv) lizardite and, optionally, (v) rock wool with a content of the lizardite of 5-80 wt.% (provided that the sum of components (i), (ii), (iii), (iv) and, optionally incorporated component (v) is 100 wt.%). Alternatively, the joint sheet-forming composition comprises (i) non-asbestos base fibers, (ii-a) a vulcanized rubber material and (iv) lizardite and, optionally, (v) rock wool with a content of the lizardite of 5-80 wt.% (provided that the sum of components (i), (ii-a), (iv) and, optionally incorporated component (v) is 100 wt.%).
