PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a computer system which eliminates the need for equalization in value by respective computers and has high reliability. SOLUTION: This device has a server computer which stores data, a client computer which reads and writes data out of and to the server computer, and a backup computer which backs up the data of the server computer, and the backup computer is able to operate instead of the server computer. The computer operates as the server and another computer backs up the data, so even if the computer operating as the server gets out of order, the server is switched in a short time to carry on the operation. Further, the reliability of the system can be improved at a cost lower than by increasing the reliability of the hardware of the server.
