PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost of liquid storage container without decreasing the number of printable sheets. SOLUTION: The liquid storage container comprises a liquid chamber 139 kept at a negative pressure for storing liquid, and a liquid discharge opening 131 for supplying liquid in the liquid chamber 139 to an external unit. The liquid discharge opening 131 is applied liquidtightly with a packing 161 forming a liquid passage for introducing liquid from the liquid discharge opening to the outside. The packing 161 is provided with a seal film 161b for closing the liquid passage. The seal film 161b yields to a force being applied externally and opens the liquid passage to discharge the liquid. When an external force is not applied, the seal film 161b resists against negative pressure in the liquid chamber 139 to close the liquid passage thus holding the liquid in the container. |
