摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the deterioration of an electrolyte and enhance the output of a cell by installing a power generating part, having an electrolyte plate interposed between an oxidizing agent electrode and a fuel electrode and constituting the electrolyte plate with an inorganic compound and an organic compound. SOLUTION: An inorganic compound membrane 3 and a polymer ion exchange membrane 4 are arranged so as to be interposed between a positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 2. The inorganic compound membrane 3 is made of an inorganic compound having proton conductivity, such as an amorphous compound containing P2O5. In particular, by using the inorganic compound membrane 3 on the negative electrode 2 side, loss of water on the inside of a solid polymer electrolyte caused by proton conductivity or evaporation can be retarded. The polymer ion exchange membrane 4 is preferably made of a fluorocarbon polymer, having a cation exchange group such as a sulfonic group or a carboxylic group. The polymer ion exchange membrane 4 preferably contains 1-70 vol.% inorganic compound and more preferably contains 3-50 vol.% inorganic compound. Thereby, water retaining effect and methanol penetration retarding effect are altained.
