PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate uncomfortableness in operation of a foot brake by ceasing automatically stopping an engine and restarting the engine when brake assisting force is lowered during automatically stopping the engine. SOLUTION: Various kinds of input signals are processed (S120), it is determined whether engine automatically stopping control is being carried out or not (S130), and it is determined whether a parking brake is ON or not if the automatically stopping control is being carried out. When the parking brake is OFF, it is checked whether a negative pressure of a brake booster is lowered below a predetermined value or not (S180). When it is determined that a predetermined value or more of the negative pressure remains, the engine automatically stopping control is continued (S150). On the other hand, if the negative pressure is lowered below a predetermined value, it is determined that a margin of brake assisting force is lowered, so that the engine automatically stopping control is stopped and the engine is restarted (S190), and then, the negative pressure is restored and reduction in brake assisting force is previously prevented while an indicator for nonperformance of the automatically stopping control is turned on (S200). |
