PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of cracks or peeling on a coating due to the deformation of a substrate film by forming a coating which contains at least one org. ingredient having no hydrogen-bond-forming group and an inorg. filler having polymerizable functional groups introduced into at least a part thereof. SOLUTION: This hard coating comprises at least one org. ingredient having polymerizable functional groups and an inorg. filler. At least one org. ingredient has no hydrogen-bond-forming group, and the network of an org. ingredient formed by the polymn. of the org. ingredient and the network of an inorg. filler formed by the cohesive power among inorg. filler particles are caused to be independent of each other, to some degree. At least a part of an inorg. filler is caused to have polymerizable functional groups to be covalently bonded to the network of the org. ingredient, and thus a structure wherein both the networks are partially entangled in each other can be built. Such a structure enables a coating having both high hardness and flexibility to be obtd.
