PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw that has improved performance and exterior appearances because of the avoidance of such dispersion in driving depth and such screw head poking as posed by insufficient discharge of driving or self- tapping chippings. SOLUTION: A screw 1 with a flush screw head 2 has a notch 3 cut in a part of the periphery of the head 2. The screw 1 can have an optional cutting edge at its point. The notch 3 is a groove that extends from the neck to surface of the screw head 2 slantwise in the direction of discharge of chippings raked up from inside the hole into which the screw 1 is driven to the surface of the screw head 2. The flush screw head 2 can have an optional scraper at its neck.
