PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a bridge pier capable of making a drastic saving of bar arrangement work. SOLUTION: A bridge pier is integrally built with a plurality of extension steel pipes through placed concrete by erecting a plurality of steel pipes 6, 7, 9, 10 on a foundation 5 including a plurality of supporting piles piled into the ground and a footing supported by a supporting pile in an arrangement corresponding to the bridge pier to be constructed in a plane shape of the bridge pier to be constructed, placing concrete around the plurality of steel pipes, integrating the plurality of steel pipes with each other through the placed concrete, keeping on adding one or more extension steel pipes 14 to the upper end of the plurality of steel pipes, and placing concrete also on the extension steel pipes thus added. The behavior of the steel pipes being structural members or the bridge pier, conventional troublesome bar arrangement work can be drastically simplified and a construction period can be shortened.
