PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the position (height) of a tray stocker so as to be easily and accurately controlled with the mechanical constitution by elevating/lowering the tray stocker by the specified amount by the intermittent rotation of a Geneva gear. SOLUTION: The device is provided with plural disk trays 17 whereon optical disks D for recording/reproducing the information are respectively placed, the tray stocker 12 for housing these disk trays 17 so that main surfaces of the optical disks D placed on the disk trays 17 are arranged nearly in parallel each other, a slide member 53 for moviong this tray stocker 12 to the direction orthogonally crossed with the main surfaces of the disk trays 17, a driving gear 112 engaging with a rack 57 arranged on this slide member 53, the Geneva gear for intermittently driving this driving gear 112 to ratate, and a driving mechanism for driving this Geneva gear to rotate. Then, the tray stocker 12 is elevated/lowered by rotating the Geneva gear.
