The purpose of the invention is a method for establishment of leaks in the water system of buildings by means of a condition tracking layout system and for clarifying the size and nature of possible leaks. According to the invention, the method is based on preparatory advance steps, by means of which the perturbing factors which are a hindrance to a quick and reliable pressure measurement are eliminated. In connection with the set-up work for the layout system, an elasticity measurement is taken for the water conduit network and on this basis the pressure measurement time required to establish the size of a potential leak is figured out. Based on the elasticities of different kinds of pipe work, the measurement time usually varies between 4 and 30 seconds. A short measurement time is also suitable for eliminating the harmful effects of temperature changes and pressure variations. After the advance steps and the separation of the network, a fast pressure measurement encompassing the entire network with a precision of 0.01 bar is performed by means of the condition tracking layout system of the distribution network. The measurement detects a potential leak and its size. A way of judging the nature of the leak is also proposed. |
