PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update map information of a terminal while reducing a data amount to be transmitted from a center to the terminal by retrieving a route based on the latest map information. SOLUTION: Route retrieving conditions are transmitted from a navigation apparatus 12 to a center 14, and the center 14 retrieves a route based on the latest map information stored in a map information memory 26. A map information transmitter 30 transmits map information on the retrieved route to the apparatus 12 via a communication channel 16. Thereafter, the apparatus 12 updates the map information based on the received map information. |
