摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking servo controller which is capable of conducting a high speed and stable track search. SOLUTION: In the controller, the gains of a tracking servo loop on, a brake on and the tracking servo loop are increased over an 'A' interval after a track jump while conducting a tracking jump of an optical pickup. Over the period after the 'A' interval and toward a 'B' interval, the gains of the tracking servo loop on, the brake off and the tracking servo loop are controlled back to respective normal gains. The controller is provided with a jump track setting circuit 2, which sets the number of jump tracks, and a comparing circuit 3 which compares the number of jump tracks and a beforehand set setting threshold value. Then, based on the comparison result, the interval length of the A interval is made shorter if the set jump track number is less than the beforehand set threshold value. If the set jump track number is greater than the beforehand set threshold value, the interval is made longer.
