PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wheel speed detecting apparatus by which the wheel speed can be detected precisely. SOLUTION: In the wheel speed detecting apparatus, a signal Vw which contains angular frequency informationωon an AC signal from a wheel speed sensor 10 is inputted. Since wheel speed information is outputted on the basis of the angular frequency informationωwhich is not influenced by the interval of output pulses from the sensor 10, a wheel speed at an ultralow speed can be detected. In the apparatus, a computing operation which removes a phase componentθfrom the signal Vw is performed, and the wheel speed information is found on the basis of a computed value. As a result, the detecting accuracy of the wheel speed information can be enhanced further.
