<p>The present invention provides a method for improving perfomance in a communication system (100) that includes a first base transceiver station (101) having a first channel (112) a second base transceiver station (102) having a second channel (113). The method comprises determining that there is interference between the first channel (112) and the second channel (113). The first channel (112) and the second channel (113) are identified as an interfering channel pairing, and the assignment of the first channel (112) or the second channel (113) when the other channel is in use is deprioritized, based at least in part upon the interfering channel pairing. By deprioritizing the assignment of a channel that might interfere with a channel already in use, improved communication within the communication system (100) is provided.</p> |
