PURPOSE: An efficiency test method of a base station antenna in a mobile communication system is provided to efficiently measure a standing wave ratio(SWR) of the base station antenna without pauses of the base station operation. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: setting a call of a testable terminal section to a ready-to measure frequency; measuring a reception power of the testable terminal section from direct input paths to measure a standing wave ratio of a transmission antenna; changing into reflection paths of the transmission antenna and measuring the reception power of a terminal from the reflection paths; finding the value of a transmission adjustment for being toward the direct input paths of the reception antenna in the testable terminal, to measure the standing wave ratio of the reception antenna in the same way of measuring steps of the transmission antenna, and a transmission adjustment in the reflection paths of the reception antenna; calculating a reflection coefficient(tau) from a margin of the reception power by using the measure values, and finding the value of the standing wave ratio of the reception antenna from the reflection coefficient(tau); calculating a reflection coefficient(tau) from a margin of the transmission adjustment using the measure values, and finding the value of the standing wave ratio of the transmission antenna from the reflection coefficient(tau).
