A core-filled thermal spraying wire contains an atomized powder of a nickel-aluminum alloy or nickel-chromium-titanium alloy of specific composition. A filled wire, for thermal spraying of wear and/or corrosion resistant layers onto heat exchangers and firing units, contains a water and/or gas atomized powder of composition (by wt.) 4-35% Al and balance Ni. Preferred Features: The Al may be replaced by 40-46% Cr and 3.5-4% Ti. The nickel-aluminum alloy may also contain 4-6% Mo.
